General Hospital Star Carolyn Hennesy Undergoes Surgery: ‘Prayers Are Welcome’
ctress Carolyn Hennesy (Diane, General Hospital) is recovering from one surgery and about to undergo a second one after recently breaking her leg.

“First surgery went well and the second surgery is scheduled for Thursday,” read a caption on her Instagram Stories, which accompanied a photo of Hennesy standing in a field of tulips.
“All thoughts and prayers are welcome. “
On the Mend
The actress first shared the news of her injury on October 28, which is when she posted on X/Twitter that her cabaret show at Herb Alpert’s Vibrato would have to be rescheduled.
“Hello all,” she wrote, “due to unforeseen circumstances, like a broken leg, my performance at Vibrato on November 5 has been postponed.” She then promised, “We’ll git ‘er done, just not on the 5th.”
Fans quickly wished her well across social media, and when some expressed curiosity about how, exactly, Hennesy had injured herself, it became clear that she hadn’t lost her sense of humor. “Use your imagination!” she joked. “Top three get shoutouts!”
Hennesy made her debut as Diane Miller on GH back in 2007, and has earned two Daytime Emmy Award nominations in the Supporting Actress category for her work on the soap.
She took home the trophy in 2017 for Outstanding Supporting or Guest Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her work as Karen Blackwell on The Bay. Her extensive résumé also includes shows like Jessie, True Blood, and Cougar Town, as well as movies like St. Agatha, Wineville, and Deck the Walls

The last time viewers saw the legal eagle on screen was on October 14; in that episode, Diane warned Michael and Carly that they weren’t in the clear regarding framing Willow for shooting Drew. And if Diane appears again soon, she very well may have suffered an injury similar to her portrayer’s – that is, if the soap decides to write it in. “What are the chances, do you think???” Hennesy teased.
Please join us in wishing her all the best for a speedy recovery. Get well soon!
