Bold & Beautiful Exclusive: John McCook Teases Eric — Yes, *Eric*! — to the Rescue
By the end of the week, The Bold and the Beautiful has Sheila getting up to her old tricks again. And OG cast member John McCook knows exactly how Eric should play into his third wife’s return to her wicked ways. The Emmy winner suggests to Soaps.com that “it would be great if she kidnapped Deacon and Taylor, and then, in a moment when she’s really going crazy, we hear Eric’s voice say, ‘Sheila!’

“She turns around, and he’s able to talk her down in a way that nobody else can,” he continues. “‘Don’t you remember how much we loved each other?’ He could remind her that it was them against the world for a while.”

Eric Brought Out Sheila’s Softer Side
As a matter of fact, there was a time when it seemed like Eric might be Sheila’s saving grace. “We did that for a while. And Deacon certainly seems to have calmed her down a bit,” McCook notes. “But now, of course, we’re getting into muddy waters, and we’ll get back to the old thing” of her being loco.
“But it’s always interesting when they do that on soaps,” he adds. “Look at Tony Geary! Luke on General Hospital was a bad character, and then he completely changed because of love. That’s always a good device to use, but it’s hard to accomplish.”
Especially given Sheila’s history of shooting… well, everybody who gets in her way. “There’s a gun in every one of those beautiful cakes she makes!” McCook chuckles. “But I know Eric will be OK. Sheila never shot him! All the people she shot, but she never shot him.

“Like with Stephanie,” he goes on. “She slapped everyone, but she never slapped Eric. Actually, she kneed me in the groin once, and that probably equates to about 500 slaps!”
