Days of Our Lives Abigail Recast Shocker: Sofia Mattsson Playing Chad’s Revived Wife?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that fans are still buzzing about a new cast addition now that Sofia Mattsson (ex-Sasha Gilmore on General Hospital) is set to make her DOOL debut in early 2027.

Although the show hyped up Mattsson’s upcoming character on Instagram, they haven’t revealed news on who she’s portraying yet.

There could be a good reason for that if Mattsson is stepping into a very high-profile role.

Mattsson is in the right age range to play an Abigail DiMera (last played by Marci Miller) recast, so that’s certainly a possibility to keep in mind.

Days writers left the door open for a possible Abigail resurrection with Clyde Weston’s (James Read) last exit.

It seemed like Clyde had more to say about Abigail’s missing remains, but he fell into a coma as part of his departure.

However, there may come a day when Clyde will awaken with some lingering secrets to spill about Abigail’s true fate.

Whatever the case, Conner Floyd is stepping into the role of Chad DiMera (last played by Billy Flynn) starting April 21, so it won’t be long until Chad is back on-screen.

Days viewers will have a chance to get used to the Chad recast in the coming months, so Floyd will be a familiar face once 2027 rolls around.

By then, Chad may be ready for a reunion with his soulmate.

It makes sense for the show to bring Abigail back eventually since Chad will never love anyone else the way he loved her.

Abigail still has Chad’s heart and perhaps always will, so she may be brought back to life through some wild explanation.

It’s even possible EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (Richard Wharton) could have a hand in Abigail’s revival since they’re already bringing back Lexie Carver (Nikki Crawford).

EJ clearly wants Cat Greene (AnnaLynne McCord) for himself, but Chad’s going to be jealous of their bond.

Chad put it in writing that Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) could pursue custody again if he started things back up with Cat, so he has a motive to avoid that for now.

What happens once Thomas DiMera (last played by Cary Christopher) grows up a bit and decides Chad should be happy with Cat after all?

EJ’s best move would be to bring Abigail back from the grave if possible since Cat could never compete with Chad’s one true love!

Regardless, all the secrecy surrounding Sofia Mattsson’s Days role is interesting.

We could certainly buy the idea of Mattsson stepping into the part of Abigail, which was a role once played by her former GH costar Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos-Davis on GH).
