Days of Our Lives’ Kate Just Started a War With Johnny — Now, She Could Lose *Everything*
Let’s face it: Days of Our Lives’ Kate these days is, for lack of a better word, being more “Kate” than she has in some time. She’s scheming, cutthroat and willing to throw her step-grandson under the bus for Titan to come out on top. She tried to force her way into exhuming Vivian’s body so she could dance on her grave. (Or prove her hated nemesis was still alive.)
And even Kate wanting to push a very traumatized Stephanie into meeting her deadline is reminding us of just how take-no-prisoners, do what you have to to claw your way back on top, she is!
As Redditor u/jbrowder24 put it, “That side of her has been missed, even if I hate what she is doing to Johnny while publicly blaming/secretly working with Xander.”
But there’s no doubt that this side of her is going to come with a cost. Being with Roman has worn down some of her sharper corners, and that’s been to the couple’s benefit. Roman’s a good guy, and things probably wouldn’t work if Kate was running around trying to murder people again.
But short of that, she’s doing the one other thing that could cause real problems for her marriage: Messing with Roman’s family.
“It’s definitely a challenge for Roman,” Josh Taylor tells us. “There’s no doubt about that. And there are a lot of twists and turns.”
And we may already be seeing that. Kate thought she could just steamroll over Johnny and, for lack of a better word, extort a good chunk of the DiMera fortune out of him. Of course, she called it a settlement, but since she and Xander set this all up as a trap, we all know what it really is!
But Kate probably wasn’t counting on trying to snap the trap shut just as things between Johnny and EJ thawed. Because now, after EJ tore apart Sophia’s attempt to stop Trey’s adoption, Johnny’s running right back to his father for help.
And Roman could end up being pushed to side with EJ over his own wife in this. You know, the man he seriously contemplated shooting not that long ago because of how much he’d hurt Roman’s family! Even Taylor admitted, “I wasn’t sure what was going to happen I’d get a script and it was like, ‘Oh, OK!’”
He went on to admit that it challenges Kate and Roman, but whether that means serious trouble for their marriage, Taylor wouldn’t say. But he did tease out three adjectives: “Surprise, intrigue and possibilities.”
Possibilities like… Roman looking for support from a certain ex? Yeah, even Kate’s tentative friendship with Marlena could be on the chopping block because of this! However it goes down, it’s already clear that Kate’s playing with fire with Johnny. It could cost her Roman, Titan, and pretty much everything. EJ intends for Johnny to stay on as DiMera CEO, and Kate’s not the only one who can and gleefully will play dirty.
