Sophia’s Schemes Are Unraveled, But It May Be Too Late As She’s Set Free
Johnny and Chanel finally get Trey down after their big day. They canceled the party and they’re still both stressed, but Johnny thinks Chanel should try to eat, since she’s eating for Quatro. (Please, please, please don’t name the poor kid that.)
Is EJ Back In Johnny’s Life?
Right now, Chanel’s grateful for EJ, but he’s got a long, long way to go to redeem himself. That’s when Johnny admits while he doesn’t want to be close to his dad, he might want a little relationship. Well, we all know that once that door cracks open, it doesn’t take long to swing all the way open.
But Chanel’s game to give it a try. No way this will blow up in their face!
Can Holly and Tate Figure It Out?
Holly visits Tate at work and he tells her about Rachel going back to Bayview; which is probably, he figures, where she should be anyway. But he still feels bad. Holly reveals that Sarah’s helping wean her off the meds and she’s already feeling better — which we can tell because she’s not even mad at Rachel. She just wants her to get better!
Holly tries switching the topic to happier things, but brings up Trey and gets an earful about Sophia’s stunt. Holly’s shocked. Shocked! She thought Sophia was sincere in apologizing and… wait a minute…
What if Sophia was behind the pills?! Holly thinks that maybe Rachel did this because Sophia poisoned her against her, but this all started with dropping her pills in Sophia’s room.
Rachel Tells Brady Everything
When Belle gets home, she and Marlena talk over Rachel’s Bayview yoyo-ing. This is all, Belle says again, Kristen’s fault, not Marlena’s. In fact, Kristen may have just cost Belle her career! Marlena doesn’t see anything wrong with putting family over a job, which is all well and good unless your entire job requires impartiality. Right, Dr. Evans?
Rachel’s back in Bayview, waiting for her intake meeting with Brady, while Kristen’s offscreen fighting with the doctor. Brady’s left to comfort Rachel as she realizes there’s no getting out this time. She just doesn’t get it. “What have I done wrong?!”
About that… Brady accuses Rachel of not taking her meds and switching them for Holly’s skin supplements, and after some confusion, Sophia’s whole scheme comes out. “I was just trying to be a good friend,” Rachel insists. You can see the wheels turning in Brady’s head.
They walk through everything with Sophia and, while Brady’s not thrilled with Rachel’s part in things, promises they’ll get through this together. When Rachel goes to get all checked and settled back in, Brady calls Marlena and tells her about Sophia, then rushes home.
How Dangerous Is Sophia?
Melinda hurries after Sophia in the square and offers to take the teen out for a bite before heading back to Bayview. But Sophia’s not going back. She’s an adult, she can talk again and she’s checking herself out.
Melinda tries talking her into going back and getting help, but Sophia’s taking control of her life. The crazy eyes are out in full force as Sophia declares she’s leaving this all behind and living the life that she deserves, and nothing Trask can say can convince her otherwise!
“You are a smart, capable young woman with a bright future ahead of you. Don’t run from yourself.” Melinda really is trying, as gentle as she can! But Sophia’s way too far gone and that’s that.
In the Show’s Final Moments
Brady thinks that since Marlena testified to sending Rachel back to Bayview partly because of the pills, now they can reverse everything! Um, no, the judge knew nothing about that, Brady, and still ruled. Cool, that’s what Belle points out.
Plus, Marlena thinks that Rachel can still benefit from being there. Brady admits Marlena’s right and understands Sophia’s “a broken, troubled girl” and just wants her to get help, too. (Kristen, though, will not be nearly as understanding!)
Sophia waltzes into the Pub with a smile and a greeting for Tate and Holly, just as they’re working through her involvement.
